One shouldn’t expect the world to be fair, or hope for things to happen as they wish, because it won’t turn out that way. One cannot change what is external to us. Things will happen, you will encounter terrible situations. That is just the way it is. What one can control however is their perception of how they deal with the terrible decision. They can either make the most of it or they can complain about how miserable their life is.
If you get fired from a job, what would you do? Would you cry and beat yourself up about how bad you are? Would you complain about how terrible the boss was? Or would you instead find a solution for that. You could find and work towards a better job, you could use that experience to learn something new about yourself, you could use that negative energy as a tool to make sure you will succeed in the future, among many other things you could do to positively bounce back.
It should not matter whatever happens, what should matter is how you respond to it. If one can keep on going in the face of adversity, then they will succeed no matter what. The mind can always be changed; the question is whether you use that power to your advantage. How does it help you by complaining about external events? There is zero benefit whatsoever, no matter how bad an experience you went through.
Accept what you have and make the most of it. Just because you don’t have much doesn’t mean you can’t make it, it just means you must work harder to achieve it. There is a famous saying that if everyone’s money was spread equally among all individuals, then at some point in the future all that money would be back in the hands of those who had most of the wealth. People who inherit money and have a bad mind-set generally don’t keep it for long, the opposite is true for those who can bounce back from tough situations. Success isn’t inherited, it is one’s mind-set which dictates their success.
So instead of complaining about some external circumstance, accept that the world is unfair. That is not to say you should beat yourself up about it, but instead be at peace with it. Focus on what you are going to do to overcome it. Write a plan, and dig yourself out of your hole. The only person who is going to help you is yourself. People might try to help you in the short run, but you will stay like that forever if you don’t change yourself.
You were given the choice on how to respond to outcomes. Don’t take that choice lightly, make the most of it.
